CCC Softball Scoreboard 2.24.23

CORVALLIS, Ore. – The 2023 Cascade Collegiate Conference softball season kicked off on Friday.
 
Conference Standings
 
No. 13 College of Idaho swept Carroll College
Game 1: C of I won 11-0 In five innings. The Coyotes defeated the Fighting Knights with help from shortstop Haley Loffer who crushed the program's home run record with a two-run home run. Hannah McNerney struck out four batters in the shutout. Kristen Norris had a perfect day at the plate to lead Carroll.
Game 2: C of I won 10-1 in six innings. McNery stayed rolling for the Coyotes to hit another two-run home run, racking in 5 RBIs in the game. Katelyn Wilfert struck out seven to get the win in the circle. Norris continued to pace the Fighting Saints going 2-for-3.

No. 10 Southern Oregon University swept Bushnell University
Game 1: SOU won 8-0, eight Raiders got eight runs in the fourth inning to end the game after five. Deja Acosta led Southern Oregon with a perfect plate performance. Cayla Williams pitched a three-hit shutout. The three Beacon hitters: Suzi Krstic, Hannah Tennant, and Molly Haley.
Game 2: SOU won 8-1 in a complete game pitched by Mayze Menefee who recorded seven strikeouts. Kailey Fulton was 3-for-4 on the day to lead the Raiders in the nightcap. Alyssa Ferreira scored the sole run for the Beacons.

Northwest University swept Warner Pacific University
Game 1: NU won 3-1 by being able to get their runs across. Emily Barry led the Eagles with a run and a hit. Natalie Dimitrov got the win on the mound for Northwest. Even with more hits, the Knights couldn't score, Jordyn Rosario led the game going 3-for-4.
Game 2: NU won 7-4 in a hitting match between the teams. Madisyn Leffle got three of the Eagle's 12 hits and scored two runs. Bella King got the win in the circle. The Knights got 14 hits and were led by Emma Foster who went 3-for-4 and scored two runs.

No. 7 Oregon Tech defeated Corban University
Game 1: OIT won 16-2 In five innings. The Owls took over with the help of Freshmen Addison Kachnik and Puakea Milbourne who each hit a home run. Mckenzie Staub got the win in the circle with no walks and seven strikeouts. Jody Fischer and Josie Landis both got a run and hit for the Warriors.
The teams will play a doubleheader tomorrow.
