AUSTIN, Texas – College of Idahos' Drew Wyman was named to the 2022-23 Academic All-America® men’s basketball second team, selected by the College Sports Communicators. The four Academic All-America® teams, totaling 55 players, have a 3.87 average grade-point average with 16 members posting a perfect 4.0 GPA.
Wyman, a sophomore guard from Great Falls, Montana, is the first Academic All-American in program history. He helped lead the College of Idaho to a No. 1 ranking and is presently in the round of eight at the NAIA National Championship in Kansas City, Missouri. The Biomedical Sciences major, with a 4.0 GPA, is averaging 12.2 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 1.3 assists in 34 games and was named first-team all-Cascade Collegiate Conference for a second-straight year.
He is just one of two sophomores across all levels of college men’s basketball to receive this prestigious honor. The NAIA Academic All-America® program is financially supported by the NAIA national governance structure to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2022-23 NAIA Academic All-America® program.
