KANSAS CITY, Mo. – No. 9 Southern Oregon University’s Riley Donovan was named the NAIA softball player of the Week, announced Tuesday by the national office.

Donovan, a senior catcher from Half Moon Bay, Calif., is racking up the awards after being named the Cascade Collegiate Conference Rize Laboratory softball player of the week for two consecutive weeks. She's currently tied for third on the national home runs leaderboard with seven and sixth in RBIs with 27.

She had a great series against Providence University this past week, leading the Raiders to four more wins. She tallied 10 hits in 13 plate appearances, four being doubles and 3 home runs. With a .769 batting average, she also tallied eight runs and 11 RBIs while touching 23 total bases on the week. Behind the plate, she was errorless with 8 total chances.

Donovan will be back in action as SOU plays a nonconference doubleheader Friday at Jessup University.
