AUSTIN, Texas – Oregon Techs' Olivia Sprague was named to the 2022-23 Academic All-America® women’s basketball first team, selected by the College Sports Communicators.
Sprague, a sophomore guard from Clatskanie, Ore., is the first-ever first-team Academic All-American in program history. She helped the Owls to a dominant season, leading them to a 21-9 overall record and ending fourth in the conference. She led the Cascade Collegiate Conference in points with a total of 497, assists with 116 on the season, and free throws making 80 of her 95. The Dental Hygiene major held a 4.0 GPA while averaging 32.6 minutes a game. She was also named first-team all-Cascade Collegiate Conference after receiving an honorable mention last season.
She is just one of three sophomores across all levels of college women’s basketball to receive this prestigious honor. The NAIA Academic All-America® program is financially supported by the NAIA national governance structure to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2022-23 NAIA Academic All-America® program.
