Rize Laboratory Players of the Week Announced

CORVALLIS, Ore. – The following ten CCC student-athletes have been recognized as the Rize Laboratory Players of the Week for their performances during competition from March 13 – 19 2023.
 
Baseball – Player
Lewis-Clark State College's Nick Seamons was named the Rize Laboratory Baseball Player of the Week for the second time this season.
 
Seamons, a junior outfielder from San Diego, Calif., led the Warriors to three victories over Corban University in the CCC baseball season opener. He recorded a 1.095 slugging percentage over the weekend with four home runs and a double. He went 10-for-21 (.476) at the plate and knocked in six runs and scored eight while leading LC State with 23 total bases in the series.
 
Baseball – Pitcher
Corban University’s Bryce Bridge was named the Rize Laboratory Baseball Pitcher of the Week.
 
Bridge, a junior pitcher from Rockaway, Ore., secured the Warriors' sole win in their series against LC State. On Saturday, he tailed six strikeouts in seven innings to lead to the 7-1 victory. He did not allow an earned run to end the game with a perfect ERA.
 
Softball – Player
Oregon Tech’s Maggie Buckholz was named the Rize Laboratory Softball Player of the Week.
 
Buckholz, a senior outfielder from Silverton, Ore., had a dominant weekend against Warner Pacific University, leading the Owls to four more wins. She went 7-for-12, including three doubles, a triple, and a home run. She also tallied four runs and 10 RBIs while taking 15 total bases on the weekend. Defensively, she was errorless with three catches and an assist.
 
Softball – Pitcher
Oregon Tech’s Mckenzie Staub was named the Rize Laboratory Softball Pitcher of the Week.
 
Staub, a junior pitcher from Hillsboro, Ore., did not allow an earned run in two fantastic outings in the circle to end the weekend with a perfect ERA. She recorded 10 strikeouts in 10 total innings in two of the Owls' four victories over the Knights. She only allowed three hits and two walks on the weekend and recorded her second perfect game in the second Sunday win.
 
Women’s Golf – Golfer
Southern Oregon University’s Haley Brown was named the Rize Laboratory Women’s Golfer of the Week.
 
Brown, a junior from Golf Hill, Ore., closed with a 7-over-par 79 and finished at 20-over to come out on top of 22 golfers. This was done over the weekend at the Willamette Valley Cup to become SOU's first-ever tournament medalist and lead the Raiders to their first team win. On Tuesday, Brown also led the Raiders as they hosted their spring debut by placing 4th (+11) in an 18-hole tournament at the Battle at Bar Run Invitational.
 
Men’s Golf – Golfer
Bushnell University’s Jackson Muramoto was named the Rize Laboratory Men’s Golfer of the Week.
 
Muramoto, a junior from Salt Lake City, Utah, stormed back to tie for the victory at the Willamette Valley Cup. After round one, he was sitting in 11th place and four strokes out of first place. He finished with the only sub-70 in round two and won a "scorecard playoff" to claim the tournament medal. His 66 is a career-best and the third-best round in Bushnell history.
 
Women’s Outdoor Track & Field – Track Athlete
Lewis-Clark State College’s Madigan Kelly was named the Rize Laboratory Women's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week.
 
Kelly, a sophomore runner from Lewiston, Idaho, ran the fastest 100m hurdles in the NAIA this season with an ‘A’ standard time of 14.22. She bested the field by more than half a second and holds the only automatic ticket to nationals in the event so far. She also ran a personal-best time of 12.54 in the 100m dash to finish third at the Sam Adams Classic on Saturday.

Women’s Outdoor Track & Field – Field Athlete
University of British Columbia’s Michelle Dadson was named the Rize Laboratory Women's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week.
 
Dadson, a sophomore thrower from New Westminster, B.C., finished 6th with a 51.30m Hammer Throw at the Cardinal Classic hosted by Stanford University. She is ranked number one in NAIA as the only athlete to have reached an ‘A’ standard in the event thus far.

Men’s Outdoor Track & Field – Track Athlete
Multnomah University's Donte Sol was named the Rize Laboratory Men's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week.
 
Sol, a sophomore sprinter from Wesley Chapel, Fla., debuted in his first 200m this season running a PR of 20.86 to win the contest. This time was also the meet record at the Oregon Preview and is ranked number one in the NAIA with an ‘A’ standard.

Men’s Outdoor Track & Field – Field Athlete
Southern Oregon University's Andrew Mitchell was named the Rize Laboratory Men's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week.
 
Mitchell, a junior thrower from San Diego, Calif., hit another ‘A’ standard for the second week in a row in the Javelin and is currently ranked fourth in the NAIA. This weekend at the Oregon Preview, he finished in 6th with a 59.30m. He also placed second in the Discus, hitting a ‘B’ standard with a mark of 48.39m, which is now this season's top record in the NAIA.
