Bushnell’s Muramoto Named NAIA Men’s Golfer of the Week

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Bushell’s University’s Jackson Muramoto was named the NAIA National Men's Golfer of the Week by the national office on Wednesday.

Muramoto, a junior from Salt Lake City, Utah, stormed back to tie for the victory at the Willamette Valley Cup. After round one, he was sitting in 11th place and four strokes out of first place. He finished with the only sub-70 in round two and won a "scorecard playoff" to claim the tournament medal. His 66 is a career-best and the third-best round in Bushnell history.

His score of 73-66--139 (-5) is tied for second-best two-round tournament in school history. Muramoto is the first men's golfer in Bushnell history to receive this honor.

Up next, the Beacons compete at the Walla Walla Invitational on April 3-4, the third Cascade Collegiate Conference event of the season. Bushnell will then host the CCC Championship on April 24-26 at the Emerald Valley Golf Club.
