Under Armour Team of the Week Announced

CORVALLIS, Ore. – The No. 16 Men’s and (RV) Women’s golf teams of Lewis-Clark State College were named the Under Armour Co-Teams of the Week for March 20 - 26 the Cascade Collegiate Conference announced Sunday.
 
The Warrior Men picked up their third straight victory (854), the fourth of the season on Tuesday as they hosted the LCSC Warrior Spring Invitational. On the final day, they improved their lead to win by a comfortable 25 strokes. Senior Jorgen Lie Viken entered the final round in a tie with teammate, freshman Bryden Brown. Birdies on Nos. 2, 5, and 6 gave Viken the lead while a strong back nine with three more birdies closed out a 4-under 68 and a two-shot victory to take home the individual crown. After co-leading the first day, Brown ended in a tie for sixth, shooting a 5-over 77. Senior Devon Caruso hit three straight birdies on Nos. 4, 5, and 6 and carded an eagle on No. 14 to shoot a 70 and finish in a tie for third. Juniors Jacob Waller (9th) and Juan Pablo Quisoboni (T-10th) also finished in the top ten.
 
The Warrior Women picked up their second first-place (608) finish of the season as they hosted the LCSC Warrior Spring Invitational earlier this week. The team cruised to an 87-stroke win over second place and took the top four spots on the individual leaderboard. Senior Alexandra Schmidt shot an even-par 72 on her final round to finish the tournament at 1-under, seven strokes better than second-place teammate junior Deana Caruso. Junior Kyla Currie used an eagle on No. 2 to help finish her final round with a 1-over 73, shooting 12-strokes better on the final day to catapult into third. Freshman Dallis Shockey shot an 84 final round to complete the top-four sweep for the Warriors.
 
"It was a fun time hosting the LCSC Warrior Spring Invite," coach Zach Anderson said. "I am super proud of the two teams' accomplishments. We will continue to put in the work and hopefully see more results like these."
 
Up next, both teams will travel to Walla Walla, Wash., on April 3-4 for the Walla Walla Invitational. The tournament is the first Cascade Collegiate Conference event of the spring.
