KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Lewis-Clark State Colleges’ Alexandra Schmidt was named the NAIA National Women's Golfer of the Week by the national office on Wednesday.
Schmidt, a senior from Regina, Saskatchewan, had a busy week with two top-two tournament finishes. The senior won the LCSC Warrior Spring Invite by shooting an even-par 72 on her final round to finish the tournament seven strokes better than second place. She finished 1-under with rounds of 71 and 22 for a 143-two-round total.
She also participated in the UPS Spring Invitational as an individual on Sunday. She shot a 75 on day one before finishing runner-up, with 79 in the final 18 holes. Her two-day total of 154 was one behind the medalist's total of 153. The week's performances led Schmidt to be named the third NAIA women’s golfer of the week for the Spring season.
