Southern Oregon’s Donovan Named NAIA Softball Player of the Week

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Southern Oregon University’s Riley Donovan was named the NAIA Softball Player of the Week for the second time this season by the national office on Tuesday.

Donovan, a senior Catcher from Half Moon Bay, Calif., had an outstanding weekend in a Raiders series sweep of Warner Pacific University. She went 8-for-14 (.571) with 12 RBIs and seven runs while touching 20 total bases. She had the first 3-homer game in SOU history and now currently leads the NAIA in home runs (16) and RBIs (63). She was also perfect behind the plate with 15 putouts.

The Raiders have already clinched the CCC playoffs, but this weekend Donovan is looking to lead SOU to four more conference victories to secure the second seed in the conference tournament, which will take place May 5-7 in Klamath Falls, Oregon.
