CRESWELL, Ore. – The University of British Columbia maintains a sizeable lead following the second round of the 2023 Cascade Collegiate Conference Women’s Golf Championship, presented by U.S. Bank, and makes up the top the top-three individual scorers.
The Thunderbirds extended their lead to 36 strokes and hold a 291-301---592 (+16) team score. Jessica NG is in first with a 70-74—144 (E) through 36 holes. Sonja Tang (72-73—145) is in second, just a stroke behind the leader, while Grace Bell (73-75—148) is in third.
Alexandra Schmidt (81-73—154) of Lewis-Clark State College shot up the leaderboard, climbing from 15
th to fourth after tying for the lowest score of the day, carding a 73. Deana Caruso (76-79—155) of LC State rounds out the top five.
LC State (316-312--628), who is receiving votes in the latest NAIA Women’s Golf Coaches’ Poll, is in second, while Oregon Tech (331-334-665) sits in third. Corban University (365-352--717) is in fourth followed by Southern Oregon (366-372--738) in fifth and Walla Walla (402-374--776) in sixth.
The women’s groups will tee off the third round on hole one at 8 a.m. on Wednesday.
