Rize Laboratory Players of the Week Announced

CORVALLIS, Ore. – The following nine CCC student-athletes have been recognized as the Rize Laboratory Players of the Week for their performances during competition from March 27 – April 2 2023.
 
Baseball – Player
University of British Columbia's Aaron Marsh was named the Rize Laboratory Baseball Player of the Week.
 
Marsh, a sophomore infielder from Nanaimo, B.C., led the T-Birds to four more victories over Eastern Oregon University. He recorded a 1.200 slugging percentage over the weekend with two doubles and three home runs. He went 13-for-20 at the plate while drawing two walks and no strikeouts. He tallied 11 RBIs and scored 10 runs while leading UBC, touching 24 total bases in the series. Defensively, Jones was errorless in the field.
 
Baseball – Pitcher
Oregon Tech's Patrick Arman was named the Rize Laboratory Baseball Pitcher of the Week.
 
Arman, a junior pitcher from Santa Clarita, Calif., completed a 3-0 shutout against No. 3 Lewis-Clark State College. On Saturday, he tailed three strikeouts in seven innings, only allowing the Warriors one walk and one hit. The Owls went on to win two more times to take the series from the only nationally ranked team in the CCC.
 
Softball – Player
University of British Columbia's Shae Sever was named the Rize Laboratory Softball Player of the Week.
 
Sever, a sophomore pitcher from Richmond, B.C., had another dominant week against Northwest and Warner Pacific University, leading the T-Birds to five more wins. She went 12-for-18 with a 1.333 slugging percentage without striking out. She tallied two walks, four doubles, a triple, and two home runs on the week. Sever led the T-Birds with 18 RBIs, 11 runs, and 24 total bases. On the mound, she was just as dynamic, recording 16 strikeouts and only allowing two hits in nine innings to hold a perfect ERA.
 
Softball – Pitcher
Eastern Oregon University's Kaylie Hoskins was named the Rize Laboratory Softball Pitcher of the Week for the third time this season.
 
Hoskins, a sophomore pitcher from Lake Stevens, Wash., threw three impressive shutouts this week. In the Mountaineer's first win, she pitched a full 10 innings, striking out 17 batters against the second team in the conference, No. 12 College of Idaho. In her last two victories over Carroll College, she struck out 24 more. She totaled a dominant 41 strikeouts in 25 innings without allowing an earned run on the week.
 
Women's Outdoor Track & Field – Track Athlete
Southern Oregon University's Lauren Forster was named the Rize Laboratory Women's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week.
 
Foster, a sophomore from Couer d'Alene, Idaho, recorded the 4th-fastest 3,000m steeplechase time in SOU history on Thursday at the Mike Fanelli Track Classic. She stands at No. 3 on the NAIA performance list with an 'A' mark of 11:17.13.

Women's Outdoor Track & Field – Field Athlete
Southern Oregon University's Abi Stevens was named the Rize Laboratory Women's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week.
 
Stevens, a sophomore from West Allis, Wis., placed 2nd of 23 at the Pacific Multis on Friday. She claimed the No. 2 spot on the NAIA heptathlon performance list with an 'A' mark of 4435.

Men's Outdoor Track & Field – Track Athlete
Southern Oregon University's Isaac Fernandez was named the Rize Laboratory Men's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week.
 
Fernandez, a senior from Yreka, Calif., was the top NAIA placer at the Mike Fanelli Track Classic on Thursday. He took the No. 4 spot in the NAIA 10k performance list with an 'A' mark of 30:52.04 to achieve an 18-second PR.

Men's Outdoor Track & Field – Field Athlete
Eastern Oregon University's Judson Mansfield was named the Rize Laboratory Men's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week.
 
Mansfield, a junior from Washougal, Wash., opened his outdoor season in the decathlon with a sixth-place finish at the Pacific University Multis on Thursday with a mark of 5462.
 
Men's Golf – Golfer
Oregon Tech's Xavier De La Rosa was named the Rize Laboratory Men's Golfer of the Week.
 
De La Rosa, a junior from Las Vegas, Nev., finished tied for second overall (74-73 – 147) against 61 competitors at The Master's Invitational at Crystalaire Country Club. He birdied the 18th hole to pull into a tie at 3-over-par, two strokes behind the medalist. The Owls shot a final round 298 to end up fifth overall.
