No. 10-ranked Oregon Tech was named the No. 1 seed of the Cascade Conference softball season on April 25th, with the help of the first series sweep of No. 4 Southern Oregon University since 2014. The team ended the regular season with a 43-6 overall and 29-1 CCC record. OIT set the wins record in CCC softball history and leads the conference in fielding percentage while being second in team hitting and pitching averages. The Owls are looking to defend their regular season and tournament title for the second consecutive year.
No. 4-ranked Southern Oregon University finished the conference with a 40-9 overall and a 25-5 conference record as the No. 2 seed. The Raiders hold the top team batting average in the conference and have the leading hitter and home run holder in the NAIA with Riley Donovan. SOU barely held onto the placement, just finishing with a tied conference record to No. 8-ranked College of Idaho, but the two Raider victories during the conference series matchup put them ahead in the league tiebreaker guidelines.
No. 8-ranked College of Idaho (43-6, 25-5 CCC) will enter the tournament as the No. 3 seed, with statistically the best team pitching in the conference. They will face the No. 6 seed at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, May 5 for the second game of the tournament.
No. 24-ranked Eastern Oregon University follows as the No. 4 seed, sitting at 31-17 overall with a 19-11 conference record. The Mountaineers are going into the tournament with Kaylie Hoskins who holds the second-best ERA in the conference along with most strikeouts by over 100 more than second place. They will kick off the tournament against the No. 5 seed, University of British Columbia (24-19, 17-13 CCC) on Friday, May 5 at 9 a.m.
Carroll College (20-26, 13-17 CCC) secured its No. 6 seed placement on Saturday with a series sweep of Bushnell University and will face No. 3 seed, College of Idaho, at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, May 5.
