MESA, AZ – Three rounds are complete at the 2023 NAIA Men's Golf Championships and the UBC Thunderbirds are still within striking distance of first place with one final round remaining. Thursday afternoon in Mesa, AZ the 'Birds combined to shoot +5 on the day, keeping them tied for second-place (with Victoria) at +7 and five back of the leaders from Keiser.

UBC's top Thursday score came courtesy of Dylan MacDonald. The product of Markham, ON carded a one-under round of 71 which included four birdies and three bogeys. MacDonald's best stretch of Day 3 came between holes five and 10 where he shot -3. MacDonald's three-round total is 217 which puts him at +1 and tied for 13
th.
Aidan Schumer continues to play steady golf for the blue and gold. He finished Day 3 at even par having birdied two holes on the front, and bogeying two on the back. His three-round score mirrors MacDonald's at +1 and 217.
Hudson LaFayette remains the top individual performer for UBC through three rounds. The lefty finished +2 for the day on Thursday, but still managed four birdies amidst four bogeys and a double. He ended the day tied for eighth in the overall standings at an even par 216, six back of Victoria's Robin Conlan.
The fourth best Thursday score for UBC belonged to John Paul Kahlert who earned two birdies on the front en route to a +4 round of 76.
