KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) released the 2023 Daktronics NAIA Softball Scholar-Athletes on Wednesday.
The Cascade Collegiate Conference saw a total of 69 student-athletes earn the honor. College of Idaho and Corban University led the CCC with 10 representatives each. Eastern Oregon University and Oregon Tech followed both with nine. Bushnell University and Carroll College each had six appear on the list. University of British Columbia, University of Providence, and Southern Oregon University all received five. Northwest University rounded out the CCC student-athletes with four.
The 2023 list features 1,131 student-athletes that achieved at least a 3.5 cumulative grade point average (GPA) at their institution. In order to be nominated by an institution’s head coach or sports information director, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale, must appear on the eligibility certificate for the sport and have attended one full year at said institution.
