CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Southern Oregon University athletic training staff was recognized as the 2022-23 Cascade Collegiate Conference Athletic Training Staff of the Year, announced Friday morning by the conference office.
The CCC Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) representatives voted on the top athletic training staff in the conference, with the full SOU staff receiving the honor.
“Thanks to great administrative support, we have put together one of the most multi-talented young sports medicine and performance staffs in college athletics. Each of our ATCs and CSCSs are fully invested in the health and performance of our student-athletes. We are committed to building our department through creative initiatives around topics like mental health, nutrition, and injury risk reduction that can especially affect small college athletes.” – Dr. Dexter (Head SOU ATC)
Dr. Ross Dexter is the head athletic trainer at Southern Oregon and for athletes in cross-country, basketball, and track & field. He joined the Raiders in 2021 and was promoted in 2022.

Mark Ulbricht was named part of the staff in 2021 and is responsible for athletes' health in soccer, golf, and softball. Mark is also adjunct faculty and teaches First Aid and CPR to SOU students.
