LC State’s Alexander Named CCC SID of the Year

CORVALLIS, Ore. – Lewis-Clark State College’s Alisha Alexander was named the 2022-23 Cascade Collegiate Conference Mike Booth Sports Information Director (SID) of the Year, announced Monday by the conference office.

The sports information directors of the CCC vote on the annual award, recognizing outstanding work with the CCC and NAIA championship events, promotion, publicity, and marketing efforts. It was named after the late conference/district SID Mike Booth.
Other nominees for the award were Corban University’s Clayton Messerle and Oregon Tech’s Mike Safford.

“Congratulations to Alishia on being selected by her peers as the CCC SID of the Year. I am beyond grateful to work with a strong young female who has so much passion and knowledge in the industry,” Courtney Blumer, CCC Director of Communications, said.

“I have so much respect for my colleagues so to be recognized by them means a lot. This would not be possible without my incredible interns and coworkers that have helped me throughout the year and our leader, Brooke Henze,” Alexander said upon receiving the award.

This is her second time earning the honor in a five-year career with the Warriors. She earned her Bachelor’s in Sports Management and Master's in Coaching and Athletic Administration from Concordia Irvine in 2016 and 2018, respectively, before joining the staff.

“This is a very deserving award for a very deserving person. Alisha has a passion for our student-athletes that goes beyond the SID office. From stats to our Student-Athlete end of year awards (LCSPYs), she works hard to promote our programs and our students. I'm proud and excited to have Alisha on our staff because I have seen how much she has grown in the past five years and I know what she is capable of,” LC State Athletic Director Brooke Henze said.

This past year, Alexander was named to CSC’s inaugural 30-Under-30 class and elected to serve on the NAIA-SIDA board, overseeing the continuing education committee, and planning of multiple webinars/Happy Hour sessions. Creatively, she received multiple CSC and NAIA-SIDA design contest awards for graphic work, all from scratch.

She is responsible for the athletic page's growth across social media platforms with the use of sports information/marketing, web page development, and video production. Alexander improved the use of photo-sharing platforms while publishing unique human-interest stories for the campus. She also led the SAAC Group in producing the Warriors’ annual LCSPYs.

Alexander worked with the CCC and the NAIA to host women’s basketball tournament games during both championships. On top of everything, she just completed long days at the field as well, helping host the NAIA Baseball Opening Round, presented by Avista, and the Avista NAIA World Series.

“A huge thank you to our student-athletes. I am incredibly lucky to have a group of teams that constantly show their appreciation. And finally, thank you to my husband, Zac, for constantly putting up with my crazy schedule and supporting me in any way that he can,” Alexander concluded.

As the CCC SID of the Year, Alisha will be pushed forward to the NAIA National SID of the Year ballot.
