CORVALLIS, Ore. – After earning the NAIA Men’s Golf National Championship, University of British Columbia was selected as the 2023-24 Cascade Collegiate Conference Men’s Golf preseason favorite once again, announced Wednesday by the conference office.
The Thunderbirds grabbed eight first-place votes to sit atop the CCC Preseason Poll with 80 points. Last season, UBC won the CCC Men’s Golf Championship, presented by U.S. Bank for the second consecutive year, and went on to take the NAIA National Championship title as well.
Lewis-Clark State College followed in second with 61 points and Bushnell University landed in 3rd with 59 points after coming in second place at the conference championship. College of Idaho grabbed 48 points to sit 4th in the standings while Southern Oregon University picked up one first-place vote and 43 points to secure the sixth spot on the poll.
Multnomah University was picked seventh with 26 points, followed closely by Corban University, separated by one point. Walla Walla University closes out the poll in the ninth spot with 17 points.
The CCC Golf Championships are slated for April 29 – May 1, hosted by UBC in Blaine, Washington.
