KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – Top-ranked and defending NAIA Champion British Columbia controlled Day 1 of the Oregon Tech Fall Invitational, holding a 17-stroke lead on host OIT at Running Y Ranch Resort.

UBC posted the four top scores in a field of 36, with teammates Elizabeth Labbe and Jessica Ng each carding a 1-over-par 73, two strokes ahead of fellow T-Birds Grace Bell and Una Chou – as the team finished at 8-over-par 296.
The Lady Owls opened the season with a solid 313 – including three players in the Top-10. Southern Oregon Women's Amateur champion Quincy Beyrouty shot 77 and sits 4-strokes back, as is OIT newcomer, Madie Hepner. Maiya Baker is 5-strokes off the pace following a first-round 78.
Tech is 10 strokes clear of third-place Lewis-Clark State (323), as the Warriors were led by Kyla Currie, part of the sixth-place tie at 6-over-par.
Walla Walla (390) is fourth, led by an 86 from Cameron Spellman, with Southern Oregon in fifth (415) following an 87 from Camryn Schaper, with Corban in sixth (447) after Kristin Senatra opened with a 7-over-par 79.
The final round will begin Tuesday with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start.
