KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced its honorees in addition to just over 2,200 NAIA Scholar Teams as a part of its annual NAIA National Awards Day on Friday. The Cascade Collegiate Conference saw a total of 103 teams earn the NAIA Scholar Team Award.
Bushnell University and College of Idaho earned the most with 15 CCC sponsored teams each. Southern Oregon University followed with 14 teams. Corban University, Lewis-Clark State College, and Oregon Tech had 13 teams apiece. Eastern Oregon University was next at 12 teams while Northwest University rounded out the CCC with eight teams.
The College of Idaho and Corban University Women’s Cross Country teams led the conference for the 2022-23 academic year with a 3.75 team GPA.
For a team to be considered for the NAIA Scholar Team award, it must have a minimum 3.0 grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) as defined by the institution. The team grade point average includes all eligible varsity student-athletes.
