Shell and Gordon Lead LC State Cross Country at WSU

RESULTS
COLFAX, Wash. – Carter Gordon and Brooklyn Shell each led the way for LC State for the second consecutive meet and were the top non-NCAA Division I finishers in their respective races at the WSU Invitational in Colfax on Friday.
 
Shell bested her previous personal-best in the 6k with a time of 22:19.3 to place 14th overall. Gordon also ran a career-best time in his 8k to finish 15th with a time of 24:57.4. The No. 13 Warrior women finished fourth behind DI programs WSU, Gonzaga and Idaho, while the No. 14 men were fifth behind the three DI schools and No. 9 Eastern Oregon.
 
Sophomore Chloe Overberg ran well with a time of 22:31.6 to place 17th for the women. Geraldin Correa was 27th (23:30.7), Grace Tiegs placed 30th (23:37.9) and Grace Dixon was 34th (24:14.8). Abigail Gorton crossed the line 36th (24:33.7), while Emma Peltier (25:35.5), Grace McCormick (25:58.1), Haileyann Johnson (27:22.7), Kristen Thomas (27:34.4) and Madison Howe (28:48.2) placed 38-42, respectively.
 
On the men's side, Brycen Brown was the second finisher for LC State in 23rd (25:18.0). Clay Shumaker placed 42nd (26:04.0), Keith Uitdewilligen was 58th (26:46.2), and Kobe Wessels (26:49.7) and Connor Alexander (26:51.1) were back-to-back in 60th and 61st. Brycen Kempton was 64th (26:59.8), Conner May placed 66th (27:19.2), Alexander Fry was 69th (27:47.5), Jacob Adams finished 74th (28:12.4) and Cooper Carlson placed 75th (29:14.4).
