Rize Laboratory Players of the Week Announced

CORVALLIS, Ore. – The following nine CCC student-athletes have been recognized as the Rize Laboratory Players of the Week for their performances during competition from Aug. 28 – Sept. 3, 2023.
 
Men’s Cross Country – Runner

Northwest University’s Micah Murphy was named the Rize Laboratory Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week.
 
Murphy, a senior from Lynnwood, Wash., competed at the Puget Sound Invite on Saturday in the Eagle's first race of the 2023 season. He finished 3rd out of 90 runners with a time of 15:01.5 in the 5k. He was a vital asset to Northwest's second-place finish of eight teams, landing ahead of several NCAA Division ll opponents.

Women’s Cross Country – Runner

College of Idaho’s Sage Martin was named the Rize Laboratory Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week.
 
Martin, a senior from Meridian, Idaho, competed at the Dr. Thad Scholes XC Classic on Saturday in the Yote's first race of the 2023 season. She finished first overall out of 33 runners with a new PR time of 17:54.27 in the 5k. She was instrumental in College of Idaho’s first-place team finish to open the season.

Men’s Soccer – Defensive Player
Oregon Tech’s Ryan Solis was named the Rize Laboratory Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week.
 
Solis, a junior goalkeeper from Emmett Idaho, made five saves and defended eight corner kicks in the Owls home win over Simpson University. This was the transfers second consecutive clean sheet to open his career at OIT.

Men’s Soccer – Offensive Player
Warner Pacific University’s Bryce McCole was named the Rize Laboratory Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week.
 
McCole, a junior forward from Manhattan, N.Y., recorded 10 shots on goal and made five in the net during two games this week. He also had two assists to lead the Knights to two more against Lewis & Clark College (4-1) and Park University (5-0).

Women’s Soccer – Defensive Player
Eastern Oregon University’s Rylee Schei was named the Rize Laboratory Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week.
 
Schei, a sophomore goalkeeper from Great Falls, Mont., had a stellar performance this week against No. 20-ranked Campbellsville University. She reached nine saves for a shutout in the Mountaineers second win of the season.

Women’s Soccer – Offensive Player
Eastern Oregon University’s Kana Mateaki was named the Rize Laboratory Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week.
 
Emmy Williams, a senior forward from Middleton, Idaho, scored the game winning goal against No. 20-ranked Campbellsville University just five minutes into the match. This lead to the the Mountaineers second win of the season.
 
Volleyball – Attacker
Northwest University’s Kaitlyn Mickle was named the Rize Laboratory Volleyball Attacker of the Week.
Mickle, a sophomore outside hitter from Fullerton, Calif., reached a career high 17 kills in the Eagles 3-2 win over Lewis-Clark State College to open the CCC conference season. She went on to record nine kills against Walla Walla University (3-0) the next day for Northwest’s second win. Mickle ended the week with four digs and a .270 hitting percentage.
 
Volleyball – Defender
Northwest University’s Kelsey Moore was named the Rize Laboratory Volleyball Defender of the Week.

Moore, a senior libero from Edmonds, Wash., collected an impressive 36 digs in the Eagles first win against Lewis-Clark State College (3-2). The next day, she racked up 14 more digs and three service aces against Walla Walla University (3-0) to leave Northwest 2-0 in conference play. Moore ended the week with five assists and 18 service receptions.
 
Volleyball – Setter
Northwest University’s Morgan Harter was named the Rize Laboratory Volleyball Setter of the Week.

Harter, a sophomore setter from Ridgefield, Wash., averaged 21.5 sets a match in the Eagle’s weekend sweep against Lewis-Clark State College (3-2) and Walla Walla University (3-0). She ended the week with a total of 43 assists, 21 digs and a service ace.
