TACOMA, Wash. – The Geoducks men's soccer team played their penultimate out of conference match against the University of Puget Sound and were defeated 2-0.
Despite being held scoreless, Evergreen (0-3-0, 0-0-0) had 10 shots in the contest with three of them on goal from Emmanuel Nicasio, Raymundo Curiel and Brandon Clough.
Brendan Gribek got the start in goal and had four saves in the match.
The Loggers (2-0-0, 0-0-0) struck early in the match with a goal in the ninth minute of play. The Geoducks responded with shots on goal in the 25
th and the 30
th minutes but solid goalkeeping by Puget Sound kept TESC off the board. Evergreen went into the half down 1-0.
The Geoducks had the first quality scoring opportunity of the second half in the 54
th minute of play with a shot on goal from Curiel that was narrowly saved. UPS scored their second goal in the 66
th minute to extend their lead. The Loggers held on and defeated TESC 2-0.
