CORVALLIS, Ore. – The No. 3-ranked College of Idaho Men’s Basketball team completed another outstanding weekend on the courts. For the second time this season, they were named the Under Armour Team of the Week for Jan. 22 – 28, the Cascade Collegiate Conference announced Sunday.
C of I (18-2, 13-1 CCC) had a big home weekend hosting No. 24-ranked Oregon Tech and Southern Oregon University. Ending with two more victories, the reigning National Champions now hold a 13-game win-streak.
On Friday night, College of Idaho drained 16 shots from behind the arc in a 83-59 defeat over Oregon Tech (15-4, 10-3 CCC). Seven triples by Drew Wyman paved the way to a 23-point effort in the win. Johnny Radford added 14 points to complement an explosive offence, resulting in a 47.7 field-goal percentage as the Yotes nearly led from tip off to the final buzzer. C of I saw its largest lead of 30 points two minutes into the second half. When the teams met up earlier this season, the score was only separated by three points.
On Saturday night, College of Idaho got redemption after suffering its only conference loss to Southern Oregon (11-8, 9-4 CCC) in the first game of CCC play. C of I shot 49.2 percent from the field on its way to a 82-50 victory. Wyman stayed consistent for the Yotes, recording 9-of-12 shots from the field to end with 22 total points. He was joined in double figures by Alex Germer, who had 11 and a pair of 10-point efforts from Samaje Morgan and Tyler Robinett.
On the weekend, College of Idaho tallied 77 rebounds and made 17-of-19 free throws. The team completed 29 points off turnovers while adding 14 blocks and 11 steals across both games. The weekend success confirmed the Yotes continued dominance.
Next up, the Yotes men's basketball team will match up against CCC co-leader Lewis-Clark State College on Friday.
