CORVALLIS, Ore. – The following 11 CCC student-athletes have been recognized as the Cascade Collegiate Conference Players of the Week for their performances during competition from October 8 – 13, 2024.
Men’s Golf – Golfer
Bushnell University’s Peyton Wiedenmann was named the CCC Men’s Golfer of the Week.
Wiedenmann (76-72 – 148), a freshman from Springfield, Ore., Shot an even-par in the second-round to end as the top CCC finisher at the TMU Danish Classic.
Women’s Golf – Golfer
Oregon Tech’s Quincy Beyrouty was named the CCC Women’s Golfer of the Week for the second consecutive week and third time this season.
Beyrouty (74-76 – 150), a senior from Salem, Ore., earned her second-straight medalist honors with a win at the TMU Danish Classic, helping lead OIT to another team title by 16-strokes.
Men’s Cross Country – Runner
(RV) Southern Oregon University’s Mason Weisgerber was named the CCC Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week.
Weisgerber, a sophomore from Wilsonville, Ore., finished as the 3rd collegiate racer at the Emerald City Open on Saturday. He completed the 8k with a time of 26:21.3.
Women’s Cross Country – Runner
No. 9-ranked Southern Oregon University’s Alyssa Johnson was named the CCC Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week for the second time this season.
Johnson, a sophomore from Veneta, Ore., was the top collegiate finisher at the Emerald City Open on Saturday and the overall runner-up out of 78 racers. Her time of 23:02.1 in the 6k helped lead the Raiders to a 2nd place team finish.
Men’s Soccer – Defensive Player
Eastern Oregon University’s Sebastian Guillen was named the CCC Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week.
Guillen, a junior goalkeeper from San Diego, Calif., made two back-to-back game saving goals in the final minute against (RV) Carroll College, helping the Mountaineers preserve the scoreless draw in the CCC Game of the Week.
Men’s Soccer – Offensive Player
College of Idaho’s Jorge Fernandez was named the CCC Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week.
Fernandez, a junior center from Leon, Spain, helped lead the Yotes to victories over (RV) Carroll College (3-2) and University of Providence (6-3). On the weekend he recorded a .636 shot on goal percentage with three goals and an assist.
Women’s Soccer – Defensive Player
Rocky Mountain College’s Hannah Trumbull was named the CCC Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week.
Trumbull, a senior goalkeeper from Casper, Wyo., led the Mounties to victories against Southern Oregon University (1-0) and Oregon Tech (4-2). She played full time in the net during both games, completing 11 saves for a .846 save percentage.
Women’s Soccer – Offensive Player
No. 11-ranked College of Idaho’s Abbi Roubidoux was named the CCC Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week.
Roubidoux, a sophomore midfielder from Fruitland, Idaho, helped lead the Yotes to two five goal victories over (RV) Carroll College (5-2) and University of Providence (5-1). She recorded a brace in the first match and added another in the second game for a three goal weekend. Nine of her 10 shots were on goal for a .900 shot on goal percentage.
Volleyball – Attacker
Walla Walla University’s Sahara Browning was named the CCC Attacker of the Week for the second time this season.
Browning, a sophomore outside hitter from Walla Walla, Wash., averaged 6 kills per set on a .378 average with 48 total kills. She also added 29 digs (3.63 d/s) and four blocks as the Wolves swept Northwest University and took The Evergreen State College to five sets.
Volleyball – Defender
(RV) College of Idaho’s Abby Draghici was named the CCC Defender of the Week.
Draghici, a junior middle blocker from Boise, Idaho, totaled 11 blocks (1.83 b/s) and 10 kills (.500 pct) helping the Yotes to two big sweeps over Oregon Tech and No. 5-ranked Southern Oregon University.
Volleyball – Setter
(RV) College of Idaho’s Savannah Hutchins was named the CCC Setter of the Week.
Hutchins, a senior setter from Sweet Home, Ore., had a stellar weekend for C of I who shutout Oregon Tech and No. 5-ranked Southern Oregon. She totaled 40 assists (6.67 a/s) and 21 digs (3.5 d/s) while adding four service aces in the victories.
