KANSAS CITY, Mo. – No. 10-ranked Justin Ash of Eastern Oregon University and Fiona Fraser of No. 9-ranked Southern Oregon University have been named the NAIA Men and Women Cross Country Runners of the Week. They were selected based on their performances from October 14 - 20 and were chosen out of a pool of conference/Continental Athletic Conference (Independents)/unaffiliated group nominees.
Ash, a senior from Baker City, Ore., finished 10th out of 100 total runners at the Linfield George Oja Invite on Saturday as the top NAIA racer. He completed the 8k with a time of 24:38.8 to help lead the Mounties to a 3rd place team finish.
Fraser, a freshman from Port Townsend, Wash., was the top NAIA finisher out of 180 total runners at the Linfield George Oja Invite on Saturday. She finished the 6k with a new PR of 21:31.4, helping lead SOU to a 4th place team finish.
Both teams are preparing for the 2024 CCC Cross Country Championships, which will take place on Friday, November 8th, in Portland, Oregon.
