CORVALLIS, Ore. – No. 9-ranked Corban University Volleyball team was named the Under Armour Team of the Week for October 21 - 27, the Cascade Collegiate Conference announced Sunday.
This weekend, Corban achieved a series sweep against No. 5-ranked Southern Oregon University. The Warriors have now dealt the Raiders two of their three conference losses. Both teams are currently tied for 2nd in the standings, holding 15-3 records with two weekends of conference play remaining.
First on Friday, the Warriors began their terrific weekend with a 3-1 (25-23, 25-21, 26-28, 27-25) defeat over Oregon Tech. Abby Guindy helped lead the Corban offense to a .221 team kill percentage as she recorded a career-best 36 assists while also adding three service aces and seven digs. Emma Bischoff had a career-high as well with 19 kills on a .302 kill percentage along with 13 digs. Marissa Uehara joined the record-breaking night with 31 digs of her own.
The next day, Corban was back on the court to complete another upset of Southern Oregon with a five set victory (25-22, 25-20, 15-25, 18-25, 18-16). Bischoff led the Warriors again with 14 kills while tallying eight digs and four block assists. Guindy decided to show out again as well and record another outstanding night with 31 assists.
This weekend, Corban will host The Evergreen State College and Northwest University as the battle for the CCC Champion crown continues.
