Senatra, Warrior Women’s Golf in Second Following Opening Round of Multnomah Fall Invite

PORTLAND, Ore. – The Corban University Women's Golf team welcomed the final piece to their 2024-25 season puzzle today in the opening round of the Multnomah Fall Invite, as their final addition from the most recent recruiting class arrived on campus over the past month and provided the Warriors with the extra boost they needed to sit in second overall as a team and currently maintain the second individual placement as well.

"It was a great start to our tourney appearance today for our women's program," Corban head coach Charlie Marshall stated. "Kristin is in a battle at the top of the individual standings for medalist position, while we got to see Yaone step up in her first collegiate appearance to finish behind Kristin followed by three personal round best scores submitted by the remainder of the team."

With no live stats or end-of-day round scores provided by the host institution, Coach Marshall provided his program's scores for tonight's recap and day one evaluations. It is presumed that the Warriors compiled a 356 team score, and depending on how Walla Walla University submitted their group and individual golfers to the tourney hosts earlier today, will determine how many strokes back the Navy and Gold remain entering the final round tomorrow morning.

The captain and workhorse atop the Corban women's golf program, graduate student Kristin Senatra, continued her lead-by-example mentality with an opening round of 75, placing her in second overall with one round still to be played. True freshman Yaone Mokgatle completed her first official round as a collegiate student-athlete with an 87 at Glendoveer Golf Course, followed by freshman Madelyn Moore and her round of 91, a personal best for the Vancouver, Washington native.

Freshmen Elliott Chesla and Avery Hansen shot their own personal low rounds as Corban Warriors this afternoon, finishing with scores of 103 and 113 to continue the impressive improvement by the women's golf team as they enter the final weeks of fall competition.

The Navy and Gold will complete play in Portland tomorrow morning and into the afternoon, with individual medalists and team champions being crowned by day's end.
