CCC Players of the Week Announced

CORVALLIS, Ore. – The following nine CCC student-athletes have been recognized as the Cascade Collegiate Conference Players of the Week for their performances during competition from November 5 – 10, 2024.

Men’s Basketball – Defensive
Eastern Oregon University’s TJ Doman was named the CCC Men’s Basketball Defensive Player of the Week.

Doman, a senior guard from Woodburn, Ore., helped lead the Mounties to two wins this week. He recorded five steals, three blocks, and 18 rebounds while adding six assists and 28 points on a field goal shooting percentage of 68.4 in 56 total minutes played.

Men’s Basketball – Offensive
Lewis-Clark State College’s Alton Hamilton was named the CCC Men’s Basketball Offensive Player of the Week.

Hamilton, a sophomore forward from Fontana, Calif., had a strong pair of games, recording two double-doubles in the Warriors wins. He shot 51.7 percent from the field, averaging 25 points per game while making 17 of 18 free throws and adding 28 rebounds in 65 total minutes played.

Women’s Basketball – Defensive
Lewis-Clark State College’s Ellie Sander was named the CCC Women’s Basketball Defensive Player of the Week.

Sander, a senior guard from Spokane, Wash., had a stellar weekend in the Warriors two wins. She tallied 11 steals, five rebounds, and seven assists on top of 23 points in 51 total minutes played.

Women’s Basketball – Offensive
Eastern Oregon University’s Kelsie Siegner was named the CCC Women’s Basketball Offensive Player of the Week.

Siegner, a junior guard from Crane, Ore., led the Mounties this week. She recorded a 45.2 field goal percentage with 37 total points, 20 rebounds, and four assists in 70 total minutes played.

Men's Wrestling – Wrestler
University of Providence’s Abel Nava Jr. was named the CCC Men’s Wrestler of the Week.

Nava (184 lbs), a junior from Toppenish, Wash., started his season with a 2-0 decision over No. 3-ranked Rylin Burns of No. 19-ranked MSU-Northern in the Argos dual win.

Women's Wrestling – Wrestler
University of Providence’s Paige Morales was named the CCC Women’s Wrestler of the Week.

Morales (110lbs), a sophomore from Fresno, Calif., went undefeated on her way to a first place win at the Battle of the Rockies. She completed three technical falls and a 6-5 decision against three ranked opponents.

Volleyball – Attacker
(RV) Bushnell University’s Hailey Heider was named the CCC Attacker of the Week for the second consecutive week and third time this season.
 
Heider, a junior outside hitter from Albany, Ore., had another outstanding weekend as the Beacons wrapped up conference play. She hit .213 with 35 kills and 32 digs while adding two block assists and two assists.


Volleyball – Defender
Oregon Tech’s Kaley Whalen was named the CCC Defender of the Week for the second time this season. 

Whalen, a junior libero from Reno, Nev., had a fantastic weekend for the Owls. She totaled 76 digs (8.44 d/s) seven assists, and four service aces.

Volleyball – Setter
Oregon Tech’s Lucy Boyd was named the CCC Setter of the Week for the third time this season.
 
Boyd, a freshman setter from Cave Creek, Ariz., had a terrific season as the Owls wrapped up conference play. She tallied an incredible 86 assists (9.56 a/s) on top of 27 digs, four kills, four service aces and two block assists.
