CORVALLIS, Ore. – The 2024 Cascade Collegiate Conference Volleyball postseason awards were announced Wednesday by the conference office.
No. 7-ranked Southern Oregon University’s Megan Perry was named the Player of the Year. No. 6-ranked Eastern Oregon University’s Hailey Arritola earned Libero of the Year and Alexis McMurtrey received Setter of the Year honors. Lucy Boyd of Oregon Tech got Freshman of the Year. Southern Oregon head coach Josh Rohlfing was named the Coach of the Year. Northwest University received the Team Sportsmanship Award.
Perry, a senior right-side hitter from Snohomish, Wash., had another outstanding season for the Raiders. She holds the highest hitting percentage in the conference (.413) and is ranked sixth in kills with 222. She helped SOU remain ranked on the NAIA Coaches’ Poll throughout the year and claim the shared regular season champion title.
Arritola, a senior defensive specialist/libero from Mount Angel, Ore., had another stellar defensive run for the Mounties. Overall, she averaged 4.49 digs per set and recorded 27 service aces which both rank in the top 10 of the CCC. She helped the Mounties remain ranked in the NAIA polls throughout the year and earn the top seed in the conference tournament. Arritola was also named the CCC Defender of the Week this season.
McMurtrey, a senior setter from Idaho Falls, Idaho, helped the Mounties to another incredible season, completing CCC play at 19-3. She averages 6.26 assists per set, which ranked fourth in the CCC. She was also named the CCC Setter of the Week twice this season.
Boyd, a freshman setter from Cave Creek, Ariz., has had a dominant debut season for the Owls thus far. She ranked at the top of the conference in assists, averaging 8.21 per set and helped OIT make the postseason tournament. Boyd was also named the CCC Setter of the Week three times this season.
Rohlfing led the Raiders to a shared CCC regular-season championship title, with a 19-3 CCC record. SOU leads the CCC in hitting percentage (.273), kills (14.29 avg/s) assists (13.41 avg/s), and blocks (2.76 avg/s). In his 18th season this is his sixth time earning this award. The Raiders saw five players earn all-conference honors.
