CCC Players of the Week Announced

CORVALLIS, Ore. – The following six CCC student-athletes have been recognized as the Cascade Collegiate Conference Players of the Week for their performances during competition from November 11 – 17, 2024.

Men’s Basketball – Defensive
Bushnell University’s Ashton Harvey was named the CCC Men’s Basketball Defensive Player of the Week.

Harvey, a junior forward from Castle Rock, Wash., helped lead the Beacons to a huge 124-42 win over Portland Bible College. He recorded four rebounds, three blocks, and two steals on top of eight points on a 50.0 field goal percentage in 20 total minutes played.

Men’s Basketball – Offensive
Warner Pacific University’s Matt Solomon was named the CCC Men’s Basketball Offensive Player of the Week.

Solomon, a senior guard from Newbury Park, Calif., had a strong game in the Knights 82-70 victory over Montana Western. He shot 64.7 percent from the field, tallying 27 points while adding three rebounds and a steal in 35 total minutes played.

Women’s Basketball – Defensive
No. 22-ranked Lewis-Clark State College’s Darian Herring was named the CCC Women’s Basketball Defensive Player of the Week.

Herring, a sophomore forward from Deer Park, Wash., had a stellar weekend in the Warriors two wins, including a 73-44 upset over No. 9-ranked Carroll College. She made 11 rebounds, 11 assists, seven blocks, and four steals on top of 26 points in 63 total minutes played. Herring currently ranks second in the NAIA in rebounds per game (3.2).

Women’s Basketball – Offensive
Oregon Tech’s Alexis Elquist was named the CCC Women’s Basketball Offensive Player of the Week.

Elquist, a senior forward from Elko, Nev., led the Owls in two big wins this week. She recorded a 58.3 field goal percentage with 32 total points, 21 rebounds, three assists, and three blocks in 42 total minutes played.

Men's Wrestling – Wrestler
University of Providence’s Aden Graves was named the CCC Men’s Wrestler of the Week.

Graves (157lbs), a junior from Sidney, Mont., placed fourth at the Grand View Open, defeating two ranked wrestlers by major decisions before earning a 10-4 decision over Northern Iowa’s Cael Rahavardi.

Women's Wrestling – Wrestler
Westcliff University’s Kyree Rubio was named the CCC Women’s Wrestler of the Week.

Rubio (207lbs), a freshman from Moreno Valley, Calif., competed in the Mile High Open and went undefeated with four wins all by pin to capture first place in the tournament.
