College of Idaho Tops the CCC Men’s Cross Country Championship

PORTLAND, Ore., – The top ranked team in the NAIA, College of Idaho, earned the Cascade Collegiate Conference title at the CCC Men’s Cross Country Championship, presented by U.S. Bank.

The Yotes cruised through the competition, collecting a score of 24. Daniel Butler claimed his first ever individual championship conference crown at Rose City Golf Course, finishing the 8K course in 24 minutes 12.88 seconds. Teammates Elias Everist (24:31.57) and Hayden Bostrom (24:51.01) finished right behind in the third and fifth spot.

C of I continued to stack the leaderboard, adding three more All-CCC runners with Cyress Wilson (25:08.99) in sixth place, Oclan Ryan (25:23.30) in ninth, and Brevin Vaughan (25:31.37) in 10th. In his third season, head coach Dominic Bolin was voted the CCC Men’s Coach of the Year.

Justin Ash had an incredible race for No. 13-ranked Eastern Oregon, finishing as the runner-up with a time of 24:29.09. Cristian Mendoza (22:56.14) and Grady Greenwood also earned All-Conference honors for the Mounties in seventh and 15th place, helping lead EOU to a second-place team finish.

No. 11-ranked Lewis-Clark State secured third-place as a team and were led by 12th place Carter Gordon (25:33.92) and Griffen Parsells (25:35.03) in 14th.
 
Jack Gladfelter (24:36.47) and Zander Moha (25:21.93) placed fourth and eighth on the leaderboard to help lead (RV) Corban to a fourth-place team finish.
 
Other runners who reached all-conference status include Jalen Griego (25:33.34) of Southern Oregon in 11th and Josiah Jaquith (25:34.68) of Northwest in 13th.

College of Idaho earned an automatic berth in the NAIA Championships, which will take place in Columbia, Missouri, on Nov. 22. The rest of the field, including at-large bids, will be announced next week.
