CORVALLIS, Ore. – The following six CCC student-athletes have been recognized as the Cascade Collegiate Conference Players of the Week for their performances during competition from December 16 – 22, 2024.
Men’s Basketball – Defensive
Multnomah’s Noah McCord was named the CCC Men’s Basketball Defensive Player of the Week.
McCord, a junior forward from Saratoga Springs, Utah, helped the Lions to two wins over Northwest University (78-70) and The Evergreen State College (89-63). He tallied 18 rebounds, five steals, and four assists on top of 22 points in 47 total minutes played.
Men’s Basketball – Offensive
Eastern Oregon University’s TJ Doman was named the CCC Men’s Basketball Offensive Player of the Week for the second time this season.
Doman, a senior guard from Woodburn, Ore., led the Mounties to a successful week. He recorded 59 points on a 64.5 shooting percentage. He added 18 rebounds, three assists, three steals, and two blocks in 100 total minutes played.
Women’s Basketball – Defensive
Eastern Oregon University’s Kelsie Siegner was named the CCC Women’s Basketball Defensive Player of the Week.
Siegner, a junior guard from Crane, Ore., helped the Raiders to a big 81-71 upset over No. 13-ranked Lewis-Clark State College and a large 73-47 defeat over Walla Walla University. She recorded 14 rebounds, four steals, and nine assists on top of 22 points in 58 total minutes played.
Women’s Basketball – Offensive
Multnomah’s Jersey Huerta was named the CCC Women’s Basketball Offensive Player of the Week.
Huerta, a frehman guard from Kent, Wash., led the Lions to two wins over Northwest University (105-76) and The Evergreen State College (79-71). She recorded a 56.8 field goal percentage with 59 total points. She also added seven rebounds, 11 assists, and three steals in 77 total minutes played.
Men's Wrestling – Wrestler
No. 8-ranked Southern Oregon University’s Aaron Gandara was named the CCC Men’s Wrestler of the Week.
Gandara (157lbs), a senior from Somerton, Ariz., is ranked No. 3 in his weight class. He started the week with a 11-0 major decision over MSU-Northern opponent, Justin Windauer, on Thursday. He then opened the Reno Tournament of Champions with a technical fall and proceeded through the 157 bracket with four consecutive decisions. He outscored his opponents 39-10 combined before dropping a 4-1 decision to Oregon State's CJ Hamblin in the final, leaving his overall record at 15-2.
Women's Wrestling – Wrestler
(RV) Westcliff University’s Kyree Rubio was named the CCC Women’s Wrestler of the Week for the second time this season.
Rubio (180lbs), a freshman from Moreno Valley, California. She earned 2nd overall at the West Coast Tournament of Champions by taking 1st place in her weight class with a 3-0 record. Rubio also won the most outstanding wrestler award for the entire tournament.
