2024 CCC Men’s Wrestling Championship – Final

LA GRANDE, Ore. – (Final ResultsFor the second consecutive year, Menlo College was crowned the winner of the 2024 Cascade Collegiate Conference Men's Wrestling Championship, presented by U.S. Bank.

(Team ScoresNo. 3 Menlo College led all teams with 156 total points and No. 4 University of Providence followed with 133 points. No. 11 Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University earned 119.5 points with No. 14 Southern Oregon University close behind with 115 points. (RV) Corban University earned 91.5 points to sit in 5th place and No. 18 Eastern Oregon University earned 79.5 points to land at 6th. No. 20 Montana State University-Northern held the 7th spot with 78.5 points and (RV) Vanguard University followed totaling 36 points with (RV) Simpson University next up with 22.5 points. (RV) Arizona Christian University and The Evergreen State College rounded out the teams with 17 and 0.5 points, respectively.

Individual Champions:
125lbs- No. 3 Hunter Sparks (EOU) defeated No. 15 Allan Hendricks (ERAU) in the semifinals by an unscathed 7-0 decision. He then faced No. 14 Nicolas Aguilar (Menlo) in the championship bout and won the title by 7-2 decision for his second straight title.
 
133lbs- No. 2 Jovan Garcia (Menlo) took a 14-4 major decision from No. 12 Braden Carson (EOU) in the semifinals. He then defeated No. 10 Simon Graeber (SOU) by technical fall in the championship bout.
 
141lbs- No. 1 Evan Potter (SOU) faced No. 24 Bo Davis (CRB) in the semifinals and Luke Jensen (CRB) in the championship. He won both bouts by 6-2 decisions.
 
149lbs- No. 24 Bryant Avila (VU) defeated No. 8 Jonah Chew (ERAU) by 4-1 sudden victory in the semifinals. He then took on No. 13 AJ Rockwell (EOU) in the championship bout and won by 10-5 decision.
 
157lbs- No. 4 David Rubio (CRB) defeated No. 11 Aaron Gandara (SOU) in the semifinals and No. 3 Kanaipono Tapia (Menlo) in the championship. He won both bouts by 4-1 decisions for his third straight title.
 
165lbs- No. 5 Rysan Leong (Menlo) won by 4-1 sudden victory over No. 4 Hunter Hobbs (UP) in the semifinals. He then defeated No. 1 Keller Rock (ERAU) in the championship bout by 3-0 decision.
 
174lbs- No. 6 Abel Nava (UP) earned a 4-0 decision over No. 9 Daniil Gorshkov (ERAU) in the semifinals. He then defeated No. 2 NaKoda Siegel (MSUN) in the championship bout by 4-1 sudden victory.
 
184lbs- No. 11 Isaiah Morales (Menlo) took on No. 8 Kyle Knudtson (EOU) in the semifinals and won by 17-8 major decision. He then defeated No. 13 Alan Badley (UP) in the championship bout by 10-6 decision.  
 
197lbs- No. 5 Sawyer Hobbs (UP) defeated No. 20 Jay Smith (EOU) in the semifinals and No. 23 Carl Hansen (MSUN) in the championship bout. All four of his tournament victories were by pin as he earned his second straight title.
 
285lbs- No. 2 Kc Buday (UP) won by 4-1 sudden victory over No. 14 Kenneth Copley (ERAU) in the semifinals. He then faced No. 7 Antonio Dacosta (Menlo) in the championship bout, earning a 3-2 tiebreaker for his third straight title.

There was one true placement match for an automatic qualifying bid at 285lbs. This match was to determine who earned the automatic bid and did not affect the final places or team scores.
Sven Lukner of Corban earned a 6-3 decision victory over Shane Mattson of MSUN.
 
After all of the conference tournaments have concluded, a 16-member committee consisting of conference raters and oversight members will meet to select the remaining 30 at-large qualifiers, which will be released Tuesday, February 20 2024, by 5 p.m. (CST) from the National Office.
 
The seeding and preliminary brackets will be announced on NAIA.org by 5 p.m. (CST) on Friday, February 23, 2024. Qualifiers from this weekend's event earned the right to compete at the 67th Men's Wrestling National Championship which will be held February 29 – March 2, 2024, at Hartman Arena in Park City, Kansas.
