CCC Women’s Basketball Quarterfinals Scoreboard 2.27.24

CORVALLIS, Ore. – Four teams remain standing after the quarterfinals of the 2023-24 CCC Women’s Basketball Championship Tournament, presented by U.S. Bank.

No. 1 seed Southern Oregon University def. No. 8 seed Corban University, 71-55
No. 22-ranked Southern Oregon defeated Corban for the third time this season by a final score of 71-55. Izzy Hernandez drained all five of her 3-point attempts and recorded career-highs of 19 points and five steals to lead the Raiders while Meghan McIntyre was on triple-double watch with 18 points, 11 rebounds and seven assists. SOU recorded nine steals and 16 points off turnovers. Neither team shot above 40 percent from the field and Corban outrebounded (42-40). The Warriors were paced in their final game of the season by Maddie Godwin’s 17 points and six rebounds. Southern Oregon advanced to host No. 4 seed Eastern Oregon in the semifinals.

No. 2 seed Oregon Tech def. No. 7 seed The Evergreen State College, 59-50
No. 25-ranked Oregon Tech outscored Evergreen State by a final score of 59-50 in its closest matchup of the season. Owl star Gabbie Gascon led her team with 16 points, six rebounds, three steals, and a block while Jozie Ramos added a double-double of 15 points and 10 rebounds. OIT tallied 52 rebounds, 10 steals, and saw its largest lead of 12 points in the fourth quarter. Neither team shot above 30 percent from the field and Evergreen got seven points off fast breaks. The Geoducks were paced in their final game of the season by a game-high 24 points and 10 rebounds from Sydney Vanness. Oregon Tech advanced to host No. 3 seed Lewis-Clark State in the semifinals.

No. 3 seed Lewis-Clark State College def. No. 6 College of Idaho, 78-57
No. 6-ranked Lewis-Clark State managed a 78-57 victory over College of Idaho for the third time this season. With the score tied 49-49 with 10 minutes to go, LC State rallied for a 29-8 fourth quarter to complete the comeback victory over C of I. The Warriors were led by an outstanding night from Callie Stevens who made 22 points, seven rebounds, seven assists, and four steals while Ellie Sander added 17 points and seven rebounds. The Warriors shot 51.5 percent from the field and held C of I to 38.3 field goal percentage. The Yotes outrebounded (40-33) and were paced in their final game of the season by Kylie Waltermeyer’s 14 points. LC State will now head to face No. 2 seed Oregon Tech in the Semifinals. The Warriors and Owls split its regular season matchups.

No. 4 seed Eastern Oregon University def. No. 5 seed Bushnell University, 83-62
Eastern Oregon won against Bushnell with a final score of 83-62 for the third time this season. EOU seized control from the start, unleashing a 25-point opening quarter. The Mounties were led by senior standout Beverly Slater, who delivered an impressive double-double with 22 points and 19 rebounds while Bayley Brennan finished the night with 18 points and four threes. EOU recorded 50 rebounds, 20 assists, and 44 points in the paint. Aspen Slifka guided the Beacons in its final game of the season. Eastern Oregon will now head to face No. 1 seed Southern Oregon in the Semifinals. The Raiders defeated the Mounties both games this season.
