CORVALLIS, Ore. – Lewis-Clark State College Men's Basketball was named the Under Armour Team of the Week for March 11 – March 17, the Cascade Collegiate Conference announced Sunday.
Lewis-Clark State had a great season, ending conference play with a 19-3 record and earned the No. 2 seed in the CCC Tournament. LC State fell short to the 2023-24 tournament champions of Oregon Tech in the semifinals. However, after earning an at-large bid to the 1st round of the NAIA Men’s Basketball Tournament, the unranked Warriors proved its season is far from finished.
LCSC traveled to Butte, Mont., to face Hope International on Friday. They advanced to the second round of the championship tournament with a 93-77 victory. Jaedon Bradley led LC State with 21 points. The senior connected on four 3-pointers and was a perfect 7-of-7 from the free throw line. As a team, the Warriors shot 55.2% from the field including a 21-of-32 (65.6%) performance in the second half. LC State outscored the Royals 44-34 in the paint and 30-11 off the bench.
The next day the Warriors faced Montana Tech, securing an 85-77 win to punch its ticket to the final site of the national tournament. Davian Brown led LC State with 18 points that included a 9-for-9 free throw performance. The senior hit three 3-pointers and had five rebounds. LC State finished 19-of-21 from the line including a 16-of-18 performance in the second half. The Warrior bench outscored the Montana Tech bench 24-18.
Next up, LC State will travel to Kansas City, Mo., to play in the Round of 16 of the NAIA Men's Basketball National Championship. LC State will play the No. 15 seed in the Naismith Quadrant Evangel (Mo.) at 5 p.m. PT on March 21.
