"Enjoying our second day of great weather, each of our student-athletes improved on their play from day one!" Warriors' assistant coach Carrie Wallace stated this afternoon. "Kristin shot another great round in the 70s, Olivia pushed through adverse circumstances to shoot nine strokes better, and Amerika continues to impress with her passion to play well as she gets closer to breaking her best round ever. The team camaraderie is fun to witness, and I'm looking forward to seeing what they can accomplish their next time out in April!"
A round of 79 yesterday by senior Kristin Senatra was improved on by a single stroke today as she fought to earn a top five finish this week, closing the book on her Canadian appearance at +15 overall and tying for fifth place overall. She improved her individual hole score on a third of the holes played today, allowing her to keep the consistency afloat through the team's first spring tournament.
Freshman Olivia Wyatt broke the 100-mark today to score a 93 and improve by nine-strokes for the team-best improvement today, while fellow freshman Amerika Jones bettered her own play by five strokes to place right behind Wyatt. The freshman duo both hopped a single individual from the University of Calgary over the final day to finish in 26th and 27th, respectively.
With the men's season starting a week in advance compared to the women, the ladies will have an extra tournament in two weeks' time that will take place in College Place, Washington at the Wine Valley Golf Club in a two-day tourney starting on Sunday, April 7th and to be hosted by fellow CCC school Walla Walla University.
