CORVALLIS, Ore. – No. 15-ranked Eastern Oregon University Softball was named the Under Armour Team of the Week for March 25 – 31, the Cascade Collegiate Conference announced Sunday.
Eastern Oregon University swept University of Providence this weekend. Kelly Monaghan led the Mounties at the plate with two hits, an RBI, and a run. Kaylie Hoskins was stellar in the circle, tossing a complete-game shutout. Hoskins allowed only two hits while striking out an impressive 15 batters to take game one by a score of 4-0. In game two, Hannah Tyree went 1-for-2 at the plate with three RBIs. In the circle for Eastern Kylie Parsons delivered a special performance, throwing her first career no-hitter for the Mounties who won 8-0.
In game three, Madelyn Durham crushed a grand slam to lead the Mounties. Hoskins threw a perfect game in the circle to lead Eastern Oregon to a 11-0 victory. In the final game of the series, Durham led the Mounties again going 2-for-3 at the plate with five RBIs. Parsons got the win on the mound, striking out seven batters and only allowed one earned run to lead the Mounties to its final 9-1 win.
Up next, Eastern Oregon will host No. 21-ranked College of Idaho next weekend for another CCC series.
