COLLEGE PLACE, Wash. – Consistency was the name of the game today in round two of the Walla Walla Invitational for the Corban University Men's Golf team, as their top performer was able to coast to a top three-finish while the team improved by 14 total strokes from their day one performances.

"Lots of highlights from day two here in Washington," began Warriors' head coach Charlie Marshall. "Max was steady playing today and at one time, even had a three-stroke lead. Made several hole saving shots and timely birdies. Both Owen and Ben improved by staying composed through some putting woes. Brayden and David started hot and turned things around from day one. Max and Brayden finishing top five and ten respectively was huge. Proud of these guys for persevering through some windy conditions and bumpy greens while staying composed through it all."

Finishing at +4 overall thanks to a pair of 74 scorecards on the 72-par course was Warriors' junior Max McDonough, as he cashed in on six birdie opportunities over the week to claim a tie for third place and earn medalist honors. Meanwhile, sophomore Brayden Sparkman logged the best Warrior round over the two-day tourney with a 71 today to climb from outside the top fifteen into a tie for seventh overall to earn one of two Most Improved titles from the student-athletes active in College Place today.

Joining Sparkman in the nine-stroke improvement club was true freshman David Harvey, who finished in a three-way tie for 12th by matching McDonough's rounds of 74 with one of his own today. Freshmen Benjamin Winans and Owen Heath each improved by five and two strokes, respectively, between yesterday and today's rounds of golf to secure a clean 4-for-5 in Warriors who improved upon their scorecards, with McDonough's reliability in the low 70s being the lone disparity when comparing the group as a whole.

Both the Corban men's and women's golf teams will be in action next week in Lewiston, Idaho for the LC State Spring Invite, where they'll participate in the only regular season all Cascade Collegiate Conference tourney prior to the CCC Championships.
