CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Cascade Collegiate Conference is pleased to announce the additional membership of Simpson University in the sport of beach volleyball. With seven participating institutions, the Cascade Conference will hold an automatic qualification (AQ) to the national tournament.
"We are thrilled to welcome the Simpson beach volleyball team to the CCC as an associate member," stated Commissioner Robert Cashell. "The growth of the sport in our region is so exciting and we look forward to the great competition that the Red Hawks will bring."
The Cascade Conference officially sponsors the sport of beach volleyball and will host its inaugural conference tournament on April 10-11, 2025, with the winner earning the league’s AQ to the invitational NAIA championship.
“On behalf of Simpson University, we are thrilled that our beach program has the opportunity to compete in the Cascade Conference as associate members,” stated Simpson University’s Director of Athletics, Robert Harley. “We are thankful for the support of Rob Cashell and the conference leadership, and it will be an honor to compete against some of the top beach programs in the NAIA. CCC membership will ensure the growth and future of our beach program.”
The beach volleyball team joins the Simpson men's and women's wrestling teams which have been associate members since 2017 and 2020, respectively.
“We're excited to be joining the CCC and for the opportunity we'll have to compete and travel more regionally against such talented athletes,” remarked head coach Lance Jacobs.
