Tracy Collins Inducted into Idaho Athletic Trainers’ Association Hall of Fame

BOISE, Idaho – Two-time NAIA Athletic Trainer of the Year Tracy Collins was inducted into the Idaho Athletic Trainers' Association Hall of Fame in Boise over the weekend.

"I was quite surprised and very honored to be inducted into the IATA's Hall of Fame last weekend," Collins said. "To be included into this group of people I admire, many of them my mentors, is very rewarding. My heartfelt thanks to my family, friends and co-workers who have helped, encouraged and supported me."

Collins was voted the NAIA National Athletic Trainer of the Year in 2016 and 2022 and has taken care of the Warriors for more than 20 years. In addition to her regular work duties, she is part of the LC State institutional team that determines protocols for athletics, students, faculty and staff.

The graduate of Lewiston High School is responsible for all medical coverage at the Avista NAIA World Series, which also includes hosting additional tournaments during the season. This speaks volumes on her ability to handle the ever-changing demands of the profession. She is often the first person that people come to with their injuries and illnesses for advice and referrals which says a lot about the respect and high regard people have for her and her commitment to her profession and helping others.

Collins is a board-certified athletic trainer and is a member of the NATA and the Idaho Athletic Trainers Association, where she also serves on the board. Collins ran track at Boise State and graduated in 1993 with a degree in athletic training. She completed her master's degree from the University of Idaho in 2013.
