CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) Council of Presidents (CoP) has approved the membership application for
Trinity Western University, the conference office announced today.
CoP Chair and Lewis-Clark State College President Dr. Cynthia Pemberton stated, "The CCC is arguably one of if not the best cross country and track and field conferences in the country. Adding another competitive program like Trinity Western to the mix makes us all even better and we look forward to the positive impact they will make.”
TWU, located in British Columbia, Canada, applied for associate membership to the CCC in the sports of men's and women's cross country along with indoor and outdoor track and field. TWU has concurrently applied for membership in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA). The NAIA Council of Presidents will act on this application at their October meeting. TWU's approval for membership in the CCC is contingent upon NAIA admission. If approved, the Spartans will begin competition in the 2025-26 year.
"Trinity Western University is thrilled by the Cascade Collegiate Conference's unanimous approval of our associate membership," stated TWU President Dr. Todd Martin. "Our athletes eagerly anticipate competing in men's and women's cross country and track and field with the best in the cascade."
TWU would be the second Canadian school in the CCC as University of British Columbia is also an associate member competing in men's and women's golf, men's and women's track & field, baseball, and softball.
"We look forward to participation with Trinity Western," stated CCC commissioner Robert Cashell. "Having had the opportunity to visit the campus, see facilities, and engage with staff, coaches, and student-athletes it was evident that they share our league's same values and commitment to the student-athlete experience and will be outstanding members."
