KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Earlier today, the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced the Champions of Character® Five-Star Award Winners. Among the recipients were a record number of 12 Cascade Collegiate Conference institutions, resulting in the CCC receiving the Five-Star Conference recognition.
Each year, NAIA schools use the Champions of Character scorecard to measure the pursuit of character-driven athletics.
An impressive number of seven CCC institutions led the prestigious honor as they received a perfect Champions of Character® scorecard. Recipients include;
Bushnell University, Corban University, Eastern Oregon University, Lewis-Clark State College, Northwest University, Oregon Tech, and Walla Walla University.
Southern Oregon University and
Warner Pacific University also reached gold status.
Multnomah earned silver while
College of Idaho and
University of British Columbia received bronze.
Institutions are measured on a demonstrated commitment to Champions of Character and earn points in character training, conduct in competition, academic focus, character recognition, and character promotion. Institutions earned points based on exceptional student-athlete grade point averages and by having minimal to no ejections during competition throughout the course of the academic year.
