CORVALLIS, Ore. – For the fifth consecutive year, the College of Idaho Women’s Cross Country team was predicted to take the Cascade Collegiate Conference title yet again, announced Thursday by the conference office.
With eight first-place votes, C of I was chosen to hold its spot on top of the poll with 117 points. Last year the Yotes won their fifth-straight and 10th overall Cascade Collegiate Conference Women’s Cross Country Championship, presented by U.S. Bank. C of I went on to win the 2023 NAIA Championship with 68 points and four runners placed in the top 10.
Southern Oregon University claimed the No. 2 spot with the final three first-place votes and 108 points. The Raiders placed eighth at the NAIA Championships last season. Lewis-Clark State College ranked No. 3 with 98 points, the Warriors placed 11th at last year's National Championship.
Eastern Oregon University earned 92 points and Oregon Tech rounded out the top five with 76 points. Corban University ranked No. 6 with 67 points followed by Northwest University with 47 points. Bushnell University tallied 45 points while The Evergreen State College had 31 points in the No. 9 spot.
Multnomah (24 points) and Walla Walla University (14 points) completed the CCC teams in the 10th and 11th positions, respectively.
The 2024 CCC Cross Country championships are slated for Nov. 8, hosted by Multnomah in Portland, Oregon.
