CCC Players of the Week Announced

CORVALLIS, Ore. – The following three CCC student-athletes have been recognized as the Cascade Collegiate Conference Players of the Week for their performances during competition from August 12 – 18, 2024.

Volleyball – Attacker
Eastern Oregon University’s Keira Vaughn was named the CCC Attacker of the Week.
 
Vaughn, a junior outside hitter from Eugene Ore., helped lead the Mounties to a victorious opening weekend in Caldwell, Idaho. She tallied a total of 50 kills, averaging 3.57 kills per set. Vaughn recorded 17 kills against Viterbo University and 16 kills against Montana Western University. She added seven blocks and six digs to conclude a perfect 4-0 start to EOU’s season.

Volleyball – Defender
Eastern Oregon University’s Kiauna Mack was named the CCC Defender of the Week.

Mack, a junior middle hitter from Puyallup, Wash., had a fantastic outing on the court as Eastern Oregon began its season. She finished the weekend with 21 total blocks, averaging 1.50 blocks per set. Mack had a six block and seven block performances against Viterbo University and Montana Western University while also adding 10 hits in each game.

Volleyball – Setter
Eastern Oregon University’s Alexis McMurtrey was named the CCC Setter of the Week.
 
McMurtrey, a senior setter from Idaho Falls, Idaho, was dominant in the Mounties first games of the season. She recorded 90 assists over the weekend, leading EOU with 24 and 26 assist performances against Viterbo University and Montana Western University. McMurtrey also tallied 35 digs while averaging 6.43 assists per set.
