CORVALLIS, Ore. – Today, one game sets off the 2024 Cascade Collegiate Conference Volleyball season. On Friday, September 6
th, all 12 teams will compete as the schedule fully starts. This will begin the battle to determine the regular season champion and the first CCC automatic qualifier (AQ) to the NAIA Tournament. The champion of the
CCC Volleyball Tournament, presented by U.S. Bank, will earn the CCC’s second AQ.
Lewis-Clark State College just secured its third win of the season as they enter conference play with a 3-1 overall record. Its only loss was against No. 4-ranked Concordia University. The Warriors will host the Wolves in the first CCC game of the season today.
Walla Walla University is searching for its first win against LC State in program history in the team’s first game of the season with new head coach, Kiana Krumm.
Eastern Oregon University was chosen to defend its crown in the
CCC preseason poll and ranked No. 3 in the
NAIA Coaches Top 25 Rating. The Mounties currently hold a perfect 4-0 overall record and were named the first Under Armour CCC Team of the Week for the 2024-25 seasons.
Southern Oregon University ranked No. 2 in the CCC preseason poll and No. 10 in the NAIA preseason rating. The Raiders are 2-0 so far this season. Last season, SOU took third in the CCC standings at 18-4, entered the postseason on a 10-match winning streak and advanced to the NAIA National Tournament's final site for the fourth time in five seasons.
Corban University ranked No. 3 in the CCC preseason poll and No. 12 in the NAIA preseason rating. The Warriors are 1-1 this season and will begin conference play against Warner Pacific University.
College of Idaho ranked No. 4 in the CCC preseason poll and received votes in the NAIA preseason rating. At the moment the Yotes have a 1-3 record. Last season, C of I finished fourth in the regular season and earned an at-large bid to the NAIA national tournament after coming up short in the semifinals of the conference tournament.
Bushnell University is currently 1-3 this season after finishing last year in the CCC tournament against Southern Oregon. The Beacons will set off their conference season against Multnomah.
Northwest University will play its first game of the season tomorrow against Westcliff University and will open conference play against LC State. Last year, the Eagles fell to College of Idaho in the second-round of the CCC Championship.
Oregon Tech is holding a strong 3-1 record as they head into the conference season where they will face Southern Oregon. Last season, the Owls fell in the first-round of the CCC tournament against Bushnell University.
The Evergreen State College is slated to start its season against University of Providence tomorrow and will play its first CCC game against Walla Walla.
Multnomah is looking for a fresh start this season with new head coach, Nerisa Laban. The Lions will start the year against Pacific University and begin conference season against Bushnell.
Warner Pacific University is set to start the new season strong against Corban.
