CORVALLIS, Ore. – After sweeping both the regular Cascade Collegiate Conference title and the CCC Women’s Soccer Tournament Championship, presented by U.S. Bank, College of Idaho was picked to repeat as the conference released the 2024 CCC Women’s Soccer Preseason Poll on Wednesday.
The Yotes earned all 13 first-place votes with 169 total points to secure the top spot in the preseason poll. College of Idaho had another fantastic year, completing the 2023 campaign with a 18-2-2 overall and a perfect 12-0 conference record. C of I ranked No. 15 in the final NAIA rating and finished its season in the NAIA Tournament with a close 1-0 loss to Keiser University. The program welcomes back four first team All-Conference members who are determined to lead the Yotes to more victories, including Eden Makaafi, the 2023 CCC Offensive Player of the Year.
Next, Eastern Oregon University ranked at No. 2 with 144 points. Eastern Oregon ended last season with a 10-4-4 overall record and will be led by returning Champion of Character and First Team All-Conference selection Darby McDevitt. Second year head coach Josh Goodman is eager to get back on the field with a loaded roster of 21 returners and 12 newcomers.
Carroll College ranked No. 3 with 129 points. The Fighting Saints held a 11-2-4 overall record last season and will be rejoined by three first team All-Conference members along with two state champion freshmen. Northwest University received No. 4 in the preseason poll with 115 points and is looking for redemption after falling to C of I in a shootout at the CCC Championship. The Eagles earned the Conference’s second AQ to the NAIA Tournament before falling in the first round to Life University.
Corban University rounded out the top five with 114 points. Southern Oregon University followed with 108 points and Oregon Tech landed at No. 7 with 97 points. Bushnell University earned the No. 8 rank with 92 points while Warner Pacific University gained 50 points.
Multnomah ranked No. 10 with 48 points followed close behind by Rocky Mountain College in the No. 11 spot with 45 points. The Evergreen State College (34 points) and University of Providence (25 points) complete the poll in the No. 12 and No. 13 positions, respectively.
The CCC season kicks off in just over a month on Sept. 20, with the conference tournament set to begin on Nov. 10, hosted at a new location in
Medford, Oregon.
