SPRINGFIELD, Ore. – The University of British Columbia won the Bushnell Fall Invitational by 30 strokes on Tuesday at Pine Ridge Golf Course.
The T-Birds, ranked No. 4 in the NAIA, were eight-under on the par-72 course through Monday’s 36 holes and finished at an even-par total of 864. Lewis-Clark State College, currently receiving votes in the NAIA coaches poll, maintained their foothold on second place at the kept pace in the third round, matching UBC’s 296 to end 30-strokes behind.
Host Bushnell University kept things consistent, and ended the event in third place (304-302-302—908). Oregon Tech (914) and Corban University (921) rounded out the top-five.
Multnomah University (926) too sixth, beating out Southern Oregon (934) and The College of Idaho (934) by eight strokes. Walla Walla took ninth (954).
Medalist honors go to UBC’s Aidan Schumer, who fired a 71-68-72—211 to finish five-under par, defeating teammate Dylan Macdonald (pictured) by one strike. Bushnell’s Isaac Wells took third place at his home course, shooting a three-over 219. Tyler Vassar from Oregon Tech was fourth (221) followed by three players at 222 (UBC’s Mackenzie Bickell and JP Kahlert, and LC State’s Oscar Behle.
The next of four regular season Cascade Collegiate Conference tournaments takes place in Bermerton, Washington as the University of British Columbia hosts at Gold Mountain Golf Club on October 21-22.
