Despite outshooting the Royals 20-14, the Mounties were unable to capitalize on their chances, with a last-minute goal sealing their fate. The game remained scoreless for most of the 90 minutes as both teams struggled to break through. The Mountaineers applied significant pressure, especially in the second half, recording 12 shots, including six on goal. However, Hope International's goalkeeper Berlin Torres came up with crucial saves, recording four in the second half alone to maintain the shutout. Eastern Oregon's defense, led by goalkeeper Anthony Lemus, kept the Royals at bay for most of the match. Lemus registered five saves, including key stops in both halves.
