COLFAX, Wash. – Senior standout Carter Gordon clocked the 10
th-fastest 8k time in Warrior history on Friday at the Cougar Classic to place in the top 20 at an NCAA Division I-heavy meet. He was one of three for No. 13 LC State in the top 75 as the Warriors placed 10
th to lead non-DI teams. Seven Warriors ran personal-best times.
Gordon was the 20
th runner to cross the line and did so with a personal-best of more than 30 seconds (24:26.96). Conner May was the next Warrior to finish and placed 53
rd with a PR of 24:59.39. Lewiston native Kobe Wessels placed 67
th (25:18.43).
Junior Alexander Fry ran the best race of his career with a PR of more than a minute (25:32.39) to take 76
th. Keith Uitdewiligen also PRed to wrap up the top five in 78
th (25:37.09).
A career-best time for Connor Alexander (25:44.89) earned the junior an 85
th-place finish and Griffen Parsells was 90
th (25:52.36). Tristin O'Brien clocked his best collegiate time (26:02.88) by more than two minutes to place 99
th.
First-year Warriors Manuel Valdez (26:36.65) and Ben Vernon (26:44.29) placed 116
th and 120
th, respectively, and Cooper Carlson was 122
nd (26:46.97). Clay Shumaker crossed the line in 124
th (26:49.04), Samuel Iversen was 128
th (26:58.35), Jace Joslyn placed 157
th (28:13.05) and Luke Sellmann ran a personal-best time of 28:58.87 to finish 163
rd.
