CORVALLIS, Ore. – The following 11 CCC student-athletes have been recognized as the Cascade Collegiate Conference Players of the Week for their performances during competition from September 16 – 22, 2024.
Men’s Golf – Golfer
Oregon Tech’s Silas Guzlas was named the CCC Men’s Golfer of the Week.
Guzlas (76-72 – 148), a freshman from Olympia, Wash., earned a runner-up finish at the Rumble at the Ridge in his first collegiate event. He shot an even-par second round to help lead OIT to a 3rd place team finish.
Women’s Golf – Golfer
Lewis-Clark State College’s Isabella Barquet was named the CCC Women’s Golfer of the Week.
Barquet (75-70-78 – 223), a sophomore from Cordoba, Mexico, had the best performance of her career at the Northwest Iowa National Invitational. She finished T8, highlighted by a two-under second round to help LC State set a team scoring record with a total of 292 in the round for a 3rd place team finish.
Men’s Cross Country – Runner
College of Idaho’s Daniel Butler was named the CCC Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week.
Butler, a graduate student from Buhl, Idaho, swept the competition at the CCC Preview Meet in Portland, Oregon. He finished ahead of 94 total runners with a time of 24:32.67 in the 8k, propelling C of I to a team title.
Women’s Cross Country – Runner
College of Idaho’s Kahea Figueira was named the CCC Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week for the second time this season.
Figueira, a senior from Spokane, Wash., earned a runner-up finish at the CCC Preview Meet in Portland, Oregon. She finished with a time of 21:54.06 in the 6k, assisting C of I to a team title.
Men’s Soccer – Defensive Player
No. 22-ranked Southern Oregon University’s Tristan Skerritt was named the CCC Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week.
Skerritt, a junior defender from Newark, England, led the Raiders back line that surrendered just three shots on goal and eight total shots this weekend in wins against Multnomah (2-0) and Warner Pacific University (4-1). He also made a goal on his lone shot in Sunday’s defeat over the Knights.
Men’s Soccer – Offensive Player
Carroll College’s Felix Billard was named the CCC Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week.
Billard, a sophomore forward from Mallorco, Spain, had outstanding performances in Carroll’s two CCC opening shutouts against Rocky Mountain College (3-0) and Walla Walla University (7-0). He recorded five goals on the weekend for a .636 shot on goal percentage.
Women’s Soccer – Defensive Player
No. 13-ranked College of Idaho’s Isabel DeVille was named the CCC Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week.
DeVille, a senior defender from Fontana, Calif., was critical in getting the Yotes back-to-back clean sheets to start conference play. The Evergreen State College did not get a single shot in the 5-0 victory while Northwest University was only allowed three shots on target in the 7-0 defeat.
Women’s Soccer – Offensive Player
No. 13-ranked College of Idaho’s Alexis Eiguren was named the CCC Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week.
Eiguren, a senior forward from Meridian, Idaho, registered two braces in the Yotes opening sweeps against Northwest (7-0) and Evergreen (5-0). She earned a perfect 1.000 shot on goal percentage while also adding an assist on the weekend.
Volleyball – Attacker
Lewis-Clark State College’s Juliauna Forgach Aguilar was named the CCC Attacker of the Week.
Forgach Aguilar, a junior outside hitter from Morenci, Ariz., led each game, recording 41 kills (5.13 k/s) for an outstanding .305 average on the weekend. She also added 11 digs (1.38 d/s) and nine blocks (1.13 b/s) as the Warriors split against Oregon Tech and No. 5-ranked Southern Oregon.
Volleyball – Defender
No. 2-ranked Eastern Oregon University’s Hailey Arritola was named the CCC Defender of the Week.
Arritola, a senior defensive specialist from Mount Angel, Ore., anchored the backline of the Mountaineers defense, recording 44 digs (5.5 d/s) on the weekend. She also tallied 42 serve receptions without an error, five assists, and four service aces in EOU’s defeats over Bushnell and No. 7-ranked Corban.
Volleyball – Setter
No. 5-ranked Southern Oregon University’s Annie Hite was named the CCC Setter of the Week.
Hite, a sophomore setter from Vancouver, Wash., established a season-high 3-set assist total of 22 on Friday against Walla Walla and a new career-high assist total of 34 on Saturday against LC State. She recorded 56 assists (8.00 a/s), 15 digs (2.14 d/s), and two service aces in the Raiders two weekend wins.
